The Vision Group incorporated as the New Vision Printing & Publishing Company Limited (NVPPCL), started business in March 1986. It is a multimedia business housing newspaper, magazines, internet publishing, television, radio broadcasting, commercial printing, advertising and distribution services. NVPPCL is listed on the Uganda Stock Exchange, with an expected turnover of over UGX 60 billion (FY 2010/2011).

 

Job Summary: The Human Resources Administrator will provide administrative support to the HR function and manage the employee health and welfare benefits scheme & processes companywide.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

The jobholder will manage the staff medical scheme in order to ensure that all staff & their dependants are properly registered & receive appropriate medical assistance by the service provider.

Coordinate the HR operations function including; processing IDs, issuance of relevant official letters, supervising Office Attendants, coordinating out of country travel, monitoring office supplies.

Maintain leave records for all employees in order to ensure leave is taken as per labour law guidelines and company policy.

The incumbent will ensure the HR database is up to date, accurate and complies with legislation.

Ensure employee understanding of benefits programs by regularly generating communication on the schemes.

The incumbent will resolve employee complaints related to health and welfare benefits.

Organize company-wide road shows that support staff welfare and advancement.


Required Qualifications

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate for the Vision Group Human Resources Administrator job placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or Organisational psychology.

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a busy HR environment.
  • Strong administration skills.
  • Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships.
  • Possess a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to work accurately, with attention to detail and results oriented.
