Duty Description

MTN-Uganda is the leading telecommunications Company in Uganda, providing payphone, fixed lines, fax/data, internet and mobile services.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:   

  • Drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to closed sales
  • Prospect for potential customers using various direct methods such as calling and face to face meetings, and indirect methods such as networking (this is often accompanied by an identification of the territory in which the AM will prospect)
  • Qualify prospects against company criteria for ideal customers and sales
  • Maintain a high level of relevant product knowledge in order to have meaningful conversations with prospects.
  • Draft and deliver proposals
  • Work closely with delivery teams, technical staff and product specialists where required to proactively address customer requirements
  • Develop and maintain territory plans which outline how sales targets will be met on an ongoing basis
  • Develop and maintain key account plans that identify opportunities for company to deliver value, strategic motivators, main stakeholders, buying processes and forecasted sales
  • Report on sales activity (include desired frequency – daily is ideal for accuracy). Keep detailed notes on prospect and customer interactions (include frequency – daily is ideal for accuracy)
  • Send feedback to sales management on ways to decrease the sales cycle, enhance sales, and improve company brand and reputation
  • Provide feedback to company management on market trends, competitive threats, unmet needs, and opportunities to deliver greater value to customers by extending company offerings
  • The incumbent will also identify sales support requirements and work with marketing to develop improve sales tools
  • Be a positive representative of the company and its brand in the marketplace
  • Conduct all sales activities with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity
  • Ensure that all set targets are met and any deviations accounted for.
  • Accurately forecasts annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams and connections
  • Ensures that all accounts have undergone proper credit vetting and monitors performance in line with the credit vetting policy.
  • Manage debt in the allocated portfolio and keep it below 90 days
  • Keenly monitors all account documentation and filing with Sales administrators to ensure that all account running reports and services provided are fully documented and filed
  • Perform any other roles as assigned by manager

Required Qualifications

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate for the MTN Uganda Account Manager job placement should hold a B. Com / Sales & Marketing / BBA/Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least two to three years of sales experience preferably in a fast-paced multinational company in a highly competitive industry dealing in semi-durable high-tech goods that require after-sales service FMCG or experience in an ICT environment.
  • Hold a clean and valid Driver’s license (at least 1 year )
  • Excellent time management, communications, decision making, human relations, presentation and organization skills
  • Professional appearance and presentation required
  • Strong customer service ethics
  • PC literate (MS Word, Excel, Windows)
  • Good systems knowledge
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Age: Below 28 years old
