October 5th 2001, it was Ralph’s birthday and the very first time we ever went to Lake Mburo. We decided to explore the Ruroko track and found ourselves driving into a beautiful valley full of Zebras and Impala and there on the other side of the valley was an exciting rocky outcrop high up on the crest of a ridge. As it was late and already getting dark we quickly put up our tent and decided to explore in the morning. I was feeling rather sick as I was just pregnant with Debasien so ate a jar of olives and felt much better!
