Insurance Company of Africa also known as ICA was established in 1969, and is the only insurance company incorporated in Liberia by an Act of National legislature of Liberia in April 1969. It is the pioneer in the insurance industry in Liberia being the longest servicing insurance company. It was in 1978, when insurance company of Africa became a fully-fledged insurance underwriter when the bureau of insurance was developed, and it provided ICA with a certificate of authorization to operate legally as an insurance company. Later in the year the Ministry of Commerce issued a registration certificate to authenticate its operation. The company recently moved its head offices from Broad Street, where it had been based for over ten years to 5th Street Tubman Boulevard; Sinkor after the company constructed its own building complex. The company provides services to greater Monrovia through Agents to interior locations.
