SIFORCO (Forestry and Industrial Company of Congo) is present in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in logging and wood processing industry since 1972. The company is owned by Congolese TIMBER whose main shareholder was DANZER the group until 2011. SIFORCO was relaunched in 2012 by the Group Blattner Elwyn (GBE), the main shareholder of Congolese TIMBER. SIFORCO is the largest producer of timber in DRC, providing on average about 40% of national production in the last decades and employing up to 2300 people. SIFORCO company - audited by the international SGS and FSC environmental labeling process - today awarded six forest concessions with a total area of 1.3 million hectares.
