About Civil Engineering Section
The Civil Engineering Section of the Ministry of Public Infrastructure and Land Transport is responsible for:
v the structural design of Government building and Civil Engineering projects;
v the maintenance of Government buildings;
v ensuring the structural soundness of Government buildings and Civil Engineering structures for the safety of the public and staff;
v the assessment of structures in cases of distress, fire, accident or failure and the preparation of technical assessment reports;
v the repairs and rehabilitation of Government buildings through the use of proper techniques and materials;
v the monitoring of landslides;
v the carrying out of all necessary soil tests and investigations for safely designing foundations to building structures;
v representing the Ministry in Arbitration and other Court cases on engineering matters;
v the provision of an advisory service to other Government Bodies on building construction and c
