Sonatrach is an Algerian state company and a major international player in the hydrocarbon industry .

The oil and gas group is ranked first in Africa and 12th in the world in 2013, all activities, with a turnover in export of over 63 billion US $. 

Born December 31, 1963, the compagnieintervient in exploration, production, pipeline transportation, processing and marketing of hydrocarbons and their derivatives. It is the fourth world exporter of LNG, the third largest exporter of LPG and Natural Gas fifth exporter. 

Adopting a diversification strategy, Sonatrach is also developing orin the power generation activities of new and renewable energy, water desalination of . sea, search and mining 

Continuing its internationalization strategy, Sonatrach in Algeria and operates in several world regions: Africa (Mali, Niger, Libya, Egypt), Europe (Spain, Italy, Portugal, Great Britain) , Latin America (Peru) and USA.

 Key events of 2013

•Official launch of the formation of Magister of specialization, the           Algerian Petroleum Institute (IAP), Boumerdes.

•Moving a module to the topping unit 11 of the Skikda refinery.

•Production start Menzel Ledjmet East deposit (MLE).

•Output promotion to IPA of 23 technicians Venezuelan company         PDVSA.

•Signing a memorandum of understanding between Sonatrach             and ENH Company (Mozambique).

•Signature of the EPC contract for the Separation and BoostingEntréeAlrar laréalisation facilities between Sonatrach, Groupement UAE Petrofac International LLC and Bonatti Spa. (to verify the origin of the text)

Company organisation

The Directorate General of Sonatrach Group is ensured by Mr.Amine MAZOUZI, CEO since 25 Mai 2015.

Adopted March 6, 2012, the organizing scheme of Sonatrach macrostructure renewed essentially the old scheme (A001 / 25) and restructures it by following the creation of two new entities, namely:

•A Coordination Group Petrochemicals Division;

•A Central Management and Computer Information Systems.

•The macrostructure of Sonatrach aims to meet the requirements         sui lowing, namely:

•Give more value to our natural resources through the implementation of a petrochemical development plan currently in maturation phase.

•Develop the managerial capacity of implementation of major development projects, integrate and coordinate all the resources of the Company and establish a center of excellence, working to master the technology, the development of expertise and Research & Development.

•Ensure the coordination, monitoring and control of subsidiaries and equity portfolio in Algeria and abroad and the targets of the portfolio as part of the strategy of Sonatrach. For better management of this portfolio, the Directorate General of Sonatrach decided the creation of industrial groups by industry.

•Strengthen the procurement system of Sonatrach markets to             ensure strict compliance with regulatory law.

•Pay particular attention to the monitoring of association activities, Upstream considering operational, strategic and financial issues for Sonatrach.
