The Trading Company, based in Harare is a proudly Zimbabwean company specializing in hand painted African Sadza Batiks.
Spearheaded by Rae Hunt who, armed with a passion for colour and design, has been hand printing on locally grown cotton for the past 30 years, combining various techniques such as starch resist, block printing, rubber stamping, hand dyeing and wax batik, Rae has created a style that has become known as sadza batik.
Each one of our textile designs involves an intricate, eleven-step, manual process to completion.
