Sohag National University is a non-profit national university established by Presidential Decree No. 247 of 2025 and located at the new campus in New Sohag City. The university was created to expand advanced higher education opportunities in Upper Egypt through a modern learning environment that supports innovation and quality academic training. Sohag National University offers programs in medicine, pharmacy, engineering, computers and artificial intelligence, applied sciences technology, media, science, and languages and humanities.
