Cottonil MISR, also known as Cottonil Egypt for Clothing Industry, is an Egyptian holding group specialising in the manufacture of underwear and cotton garments, founded in 1999 by businessman Basel Somakia and headquartered in the industrial zone on Misr Ismailia Desert Road in the Gesr El Suez area of Cairo, Egypt. Cottonil MISR produces a wide range of men’s, women’s and children’s underwear, loungewear, sleepwear and cotton basics that are manufactured using high-quality Egyptian cotton and are sold under the well-known Cottonil brand through an extensive retail and distribution network across Cairo and other Egyptian governorates.
