Almaza Air Force Base is a military air base founded in the 1920s and located in the Heliopolis / El-Nozha suburb of Cairo, Egypt. The base was originally established as a civilian aerodrome in early aviation history, later functioning under British RAF control, and from 1932 became the first base of the Egyptian Air Force. The services offered include military air operations, VIP and governmental flights, search and rescue (SAR) helicopter and fixed-wing operations, air navigation training and aircraft support. The activities include hosting multiple air force squadrons, navigation and pilot training, VIP transport, SAR and emergency operations, and serving as headquarters for important air-force divisions. Almaza Air Force Base has been in existence since the 1920s and remains a central part of Egypt’s military aviation infrastructure. (ICAO:HEAZ)
