Bardawil International Airport is an airport located in El Hassana (El-Meliz), North Sinai Governorate, Egypt. The airport was developed as part of a national project to serve industrial, agricultural and fishing areas across Sinai, including cement factories, marble quarries, and local communities. The facility sits on an area of approximately 11 km² and includes a main runway (about 3,350 m long and 60 m wide), an apron capable of handling up to 8 aircraft, passenger arrival/departure halls with capacity for about 300 passengers per hour, passport control, a 33-meter control tower, meteorological, administrative and technical buildings, as well as supporting infrastructure (power station, reverse-osmosis water plant, sewage treatment, fire station, and a mosque). As such, Bardawil International Airport plays a key role in improving aviation access to central Sinai’s industrial and rural zones, supporting both economic development and regional mobility. (ICAO:)
