Capital International Airport is an airport founded as part of Egypt’s New Administrative Capital project and is located on the Cairo–Suez Road east of Cairo, where it serves government districts, business hubs, and fast-growing residential communities with a modern passenger terminal and efficient ground facilities designed to international standards. Capital International Airport has been in existence since 2019 and was developed to ease pressure on Cairo International Airport by handling domestic and selected international flights for travellers heading to new urban centres, industrial zones, and cities along the Suez corridor. The airport’s design includes a long paved runway, modern navigation systems, spacious check-in and arrival halls, duty-free and retail areas, as well as parking areas sized for passenger cars and buses, which makes the airport an attractive, time-saving gateway for business travellers, government delegations, and tourists visiting the New Administrative Capital and East Cairo. Capital International Airport also benefits from direct links to major highways including the Cairo–Suez Road and regional ring roads, which allows airlines, logistics operators, and tour companies to promote convenient connections to the new city’s hotels, conference centres, and administrative districts.
