East African Foundry Works Group here in ‘EAFW’ was set up as an engineering solutions provider in the manufacture and supply engineering spare parts, complete overhaul, servicing and installation of complete industrial plant and machinery for the Kenyan, East and Central Africa regional market. It started operations at the main Nairobi’s Industrial area Busia Road on a single lane go-down in 1972. This coupled with the demand for standard mass production of castings gave the setting up of a full-fledged Steel Foundry Casting Manufacturing business; a reality to the promoters forty (40) years ago. The company had to move to Ruaraka; newer larger site in 1981 due to the growing demand.
