Accumulo Consulting was formed as a result of the merger of the non auditing functions of Neville Hide Incorporated and the business of Retained Professional Services Close Corporation which was renamed Accumulo Consulting (Pty) Ltd. In 2008 a number of small accounting and taxation practices were acquired while in 2009 Taxsmart was added to the group and included it as a division of Accumulo Consulting. Operations and staff were moved to Accumulo House in 2010. Alan van der Vyver, the founder of Crest Bookkeeping and Secretarial Services, expressed a desire to retire and in 2011 the Accumulo Group reached agreement to purchase this practice. In March 2012 the business was moved to its own premises adjacent to Accumulo Consulting in the Bedfordview Office Park.
