Established in 1947, George High School is a WCED Arts & Culture focus high school serving the Levallia community in George. George High School is an Afrikaans‑medium public secondary school founded in 1947 and designated an Arts & Culture Focus School by the Western Cape Education Department. Although not a private language centre, it hosts after‑hours English‑as‑Second‑Language support and matric English Home‑Language tuition for its 1 200 learners and adult evening classes for the Levallia community. Facilities include over 30 classrooms, computer and science labs, an arts centre, and sports fields for rugby, hockey and athletics. The school serves the greater George area and partners with NGOs such as Room to Read for literacy outreach.
