About AFR100 (African Forest Landscape Restoration Initiative) - ZA
AFR100 is a continent‑wide initiative coordinating restoration of degraded land in Africa, supporting food security and climate resilience. Launched in December 2015 as a pan‑African partnership across 34 countries to restore 100 million hectares of degraded land by 2030. Programme supports food security, climate resilience, poverty reduction. Managed via NEPAD/AU Secretariat, technical and finance partners, TerraFund financing, FAO‑led restoration projects (2024‑2027). Unique scope: continent‑wide ecosystem restoration linked to Bonn Challenge and Agenda 2063.
