DAWA is a feminist youth-led NGO based in South Africa supporting girls and young women’s rights, leadership and livelihoods across Africa. Founded in 2019, DAWA is a South Africa– and Zimbabwe–based youth-led feminist movement focused on adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) across Southern and East Africa. It promotes sexual and reproductive health and rights, economic empowerment, leadership, peacebuilding and digital advocacy. DAWA acts as a resource and networking hub for AGYW-led initiatives. Unique for its intersectional, intergenerational and cross-border youth focus.
