Guardians of the Deep is a Cape Town NGO leading ocean education and marine conservation through youth engagement and advocacy. Guardians of the Deep NPC is a Cape Town–based marine conservation NGO that educates and mobilizes communities and schools to protect marine ecosystems. It runs youth programs, ocean literacy projects, clean-up events, and conservation activism. Founded by ocean advocate Zandile Ndhlovu, also known as the Black Mermaid. Unique for centering African identity in ocean conservation and building community stewardship of marine environments.
