Volunteer Wildfire Services is SA’s top volunteer firefighting NGO protecting forests and communities from wildfires. Established in 1999, Volunteer Wildfire Services is South Africa’s largest volunteer firefighting organization. Based in the Western Cape, VWS provides trained, equipped and committed volunteer crews that assist with combating wildfires in national parks, forests, and mountainous regions. They also run awareness campaigns and fire prevention education.
