Established on 20 April 1893, East London Golf Club is one of South Africa’s oldest clubs and has hosted six South African Opens and the inaugural Africa Open. The current coastal layout, crafted in the 1920s by Col. SV Hotchin on dunes at Bunkers Hill, blends links and parkland holes with panoramic Indian‑Ocean views. Ranked consistently inside South Africa’s Top 20, the par‑72 course is famed for its natural terrain, resident wildlife and strategic bunkering. Beyond golf, the club provides bowling greens, croquet lawns, acclaimed catering, weddings, conferences and professional coaching, serving Buffalo City and touring golfers on the Wild Coast.
