Indo Jet Travel dates back to 1973 when it was formed as a private company. Indo Jet's first IATA license was also obtained in this year. John Holmes and Jannie Gildenhuys acquired 50% of the business and its controlling rights in January 1985, with the intention of seeing it surpass even the sky's limit. Tourvest Holdings (Pty) Ltd who is regarded as the largest Travel and Tourism Company in South Africa acquired Indo Jet Travel in 2004. With the acquisition came financial stability, buying power, access to preferential fares and products as well as world class systems and improvements.
