About South Sudan Revenue Authority


The South Sudan Revenue Authority (Formerly National Revenue Authority) is the revenue service of the South Sudan Government; it is a non-oil Revenue collecting body that was established in 2016 under the National Revenue Authority Act, 2016. The South Sudan Revenue Authority branches include but are not limited to Domestic Tax division and Customs division.

Jurisdiction: The republic South Sudan

Core functions of SSRA include;

  • To evaluate, collect and account for all revenue or tax due to the government at the least possible cost to the public in agreement with the laws and specified provisions of the written laws of South Sudan.
  • To counsel on matters relating to the administration of, and collection of revenue under the written laws or the specified provisions of the written laws of South Sudan.

Our Mandate

  • To evaluate, collect and account for all revenue or tax due to the government at the least possible cost to the public in agreement with the laws and specified provisions of the written laws of South Sudan.
  • To counsel on matters relating to the administration of, and collection of revenue under the written laws or the specified provisions of the written laws of South Sudan.
  • Assessing, collecting, remitting and accounting for revenue due to the national government
  • Administering and enforcing the laws or the specified provisions of the laws set out in the NRA Act
  • Promoting voluntary tax compliance by taxpayers as required by law or regulations
  • Taking such measures as may be required to counteract tax and custom fraud and any other forms of tax evasion;
  • Establishing and maintaining electronic information management systems to increase efficiency, transparency and productivity of the revenue administrations.
  • Implementing agreement and MOUs related to revenue administrations programs between the GRSS, regional and international organizations, and memoranda on matters relating to imports or exports.
