The plant has an installed capacity to produce 28 000 metric tonnes of High Carbon Ferrochrome annually. The chrome ores used at the Smelter are drawn from mining claims in Mhondoro (East Dyke), Darwendale (North Dyke), Mapanzure and Mashava (South Dyke). The chrome ore is mined and transported to Kadoma where smelting takes place using a combination with reductants (coke and coal) and flux (quartz) to produce high carbon ferrochrome alloy.
