In 1969 as a result of change in ownership, the activities of a company known as Reid Brothers, were incorporated into the activities of Dawson and Dobson, Reid Brothers were involved in many activities including Valves; General Lifting Equipment; Fastenings; Ridgid Tools; Electric Motors and Switchgear. As a result of the amalgamation, the company name changed to Associated Mining and Electrical Supplies and in 1982 the name was changed to Ames Engineering Limited.
