About Bulawayo Public Library
Get to know Bulawayo Public Library, our company background, profile information, and the public details we share through Africa2Trust in Zimbabwe.
Founded in 1896, Bulawayo Public Library (BPL) is a Private Voluntary
Organization registered in terms of the Welfare Act (Chapter 93). Unlike
other Libraries such as those of colleges and universities which although
open to public use have borrowing privileges only restricted to their
students and staff, BPL is open to everyone as long as they join as readers.
Our readers, currently above 10 000 are from communities within
Bulawayo, countryside and other towns. These readers are made up of
school children of all levels, colleges and university students, researchers
and those who read for leisure.
