About Action contre la Faim
In Zimbabwe, Action contre la Faim continues to run projects in collaboration with the NGOs Africa Ahead Zimbabwe (AAZ) and Nutrition Action Zimbabwe (NAZ) to meet the urgent needs of populations affected by shocks (prolonged drought and cholera) and to restore/strengthen livelihoods and basic services in affected communities. The Stabilization of Vulnerable Households Affected by the Crisis in Mwenezi and Chiredzi Districts project, funded by USAID’s Office of Humanitarian Affairs, supported 4,858 farmers and 3,078 poultry breeders, 1,295 women and men via conditional cash activities, 1,538 men and women in microfinance groups (savings), built or repaired 26 boreholes and 7 mini-water systems, and reached over 10,000 people via a behavior change strategy for adequate hygiene and sanitation practices. In the same area, a project financed by the Comité Interministériel de l’Aide Alimentaire (CIAA) also provided support to households vulnerable to undernutrition through cash transfers d
