Dinadona Preparatory School was received very well and by the end of 1993, they had a population of 72 pupils. Whereas the school’s initial interest was to run a Kindergarten, they were overwhelmed by requests by parents to open a primary section which they obliged and have never regretted. By 1996, Dinadona Preparatory School had established itself as a darling of many parents. They had also made good progress by buying the premises where they operated from. Dinadona Preparatory School currently covers nearly 2 acres of land and they hope to continue investing in making the learning environment more appropriate. Co curricular activities: A variety of games, sports, Music, Dance, and Drama, Clubs are also part of the timetable at Dinadona Preparatory School. Pupils’ talents and potential are therefore discovered at a tender age. Pupils are allowed to prac

Margaret Junior School is situated in the small parish of Kasanje in Kulungu District,Uganda. Uganda is one of the poorest countries in the world and until recently few children in rural areas were able to attend school. The Government has now introduced Universal Primary Education (UPE) but it will take many years for the policy to be fully implemented as there are just not enough school buildings or trained teachers in place. Many children have to walk long distances to reach government schools, which is difficult for those who are ill, or whose families require them to work in the fields. Margaret Junior School was started in the Spring of 2004 by Kasujja Sarah, a retired Deputy Head-teacher. It was as the result of her son, Mutebi Daniel (Danny), receiving sponsorship to read law at Kampala International University, from Margaret West of Shrewsbury. Margaret was in Uganda in 2003 visiting Roger and Wendy Ford, friends of hers who were doing Voluntary Service Overseas. Danny, who

She returned to the school every year and started the building of the library. Other visits followed by members of her family and friends - all being moved by the love and friendship they received, and the drive and desire to do something to help. It was decided that the best way to give a clear focus to the efforts to support the school, both in practical ways on the ground and to help with fundraising, was to form a charity.
