We are a progressive school, believing that the best way for a student to learn is by empowering them to learn. To this end, we encourage free thinking, discussions and debates on topics learned, the use of technology to enhance self learning. This teaching ethos is aimed at moving the student away from memorizing facts to actually learning facts and reusable concepts. This produces a more creative and well rounded individual who is guaranteed to perform at a much higher level academically than his counterpart who relies on memorizing facts in order to pass exams.

The School was established in January 2009. In June 2009, the school was registered with the Tanzanian Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (Reg No S.4174) as well as National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA - Examination Index No S.2178). The School opened it doors to students in April 2009, by enrolling Form five (V) students and in January 2010 enrolled its first Form one (I) students. The school has grown rapidly from a beginning enrollment of six (6) students in April 2009 to over 650 students today.

GRETF focuses on education developments in Geita - Mwanza and Tanzania at large. The trust is committed to playing an active role in the transformation of Tanzania education. The GRETF intends to provide education to meet the present requirement of both parents and children of Geita to enable the children compete effectively for the meager employment in mining and other sector around and other opportunities for self –employment & self–confide
