Duty Description

A bachelors’ degree in Electrical engineering, Telecommunications engineering, Computer science or Information Technology with 2 years experience executing technical assignments in a busy Internet service firm or in a data communication environment. MCSE & LINUX Certification. Good communication and managerial skills is an added advantage.

Required Qualifications

Skills and Competences;

• Good systems knowledge of UNIX system architecture: file systems and processes among other vital system parameters.
• Good knowledge of administration and configuration of email servers running Postfix, Qmail and Exim with capabilities for TLS and SMTP-AUTH
• Good knowledge in administration and configuration of name servers running BIND
• Experience in configuration and management of RADIUS server
• Good knowledge in administration and configuration of databases running on MySQL and PostgreSQL
• Good knowledge in administration and configuration of web servers running on Apache and IIS
• Good knowledge of one major system programming languages majoring in either PHP, Perl or Shell
• Additional professional certifications in CCNA and CCNP will be an added advantage
• Good knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP networking is an added advantage
• Good knowledge and understanding of Windows Server administration
• Good knowledge of VoIP functionality is an added advantage
• Experience in Direct Customer Support in a busy environment
• Proficiency in firewall systems – CISCO, Cyberroam etc
• Proficiency in open source firewall systems
• Ability to work extended hours, on call and holidays
• Ability to work in harsh weather or confined space environment of server rooms (Cold, heat etc).
