About British School of Kampala(BSK)

We opened our school in 2012, in Muyenga, a beautiful suburb of Kampala. The school offers an internationally recognised curriculum for primary and secondary students (Years 1 to 13).

We follow the British National Curriculum (Pearson-Edexcel IGCSE, GCE-A ‘level an BTEC Level 1, 2 and 3) with a distinct Ugandan flavour, at an affordable price. The yearly tuition fee (expressed in $) ranges from about 2000 $ in Year 1-5 to less than 4000 $ in Year 12-13 (exam fees excluded). A detailed fee structure can be obtained by request.

Together with our highly motivated, trained and experienced teaching staff, we create a friendly environment where learning is fun, differentiated and hands-on.

The school offers a wide variety of extra-curricular activities and clubs in order to cater for individual talents and to promote the holistic development of your child. We have a well-structured Optimum learning Centre (OLC) for students who face learning challenges. Most secondary OLC students are enrolled in BTEC level 1 courses, as a 2 year programme and we are now adding BTEC level 2 aswell for OLC and y10 students.

The Covid-19 pandemic has been a challenge, but we managed to have successful online classes for most of 2020 and we safely restarted physical school with strict SOP’s in early 2021. We were aiming at resuming the after-school clubs later in 2021, but unfortunately the pandemic forced us back in a lockdown and in the closure of all schools. We therefore start the new school year fully online again, but we expect to reopen the classrooms before the end of 2021.

In September 2018, we opened a primary campus nearby to accommodate the double streaming in Year 1 to 6, and this doubling has now completed in Year 7 to 11 at the secondary campus. To ensure that individual attention is rendered to each student, we keep the average class size at 24.    In Year 12/13, the class size is about 12.

BSK-Secondary-School

Despite our continuous growth, we intend to keep the total student population limited to a maximum of about 530 students in order to preserve the family atmosphere we greatly cherish at BSK.
