About BWINDI BACKPACKERS LODGE

Bwindi Backpackers lodge is of one kind travelers paradise located on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National park, a world heritage site the home to two great apes i.e Chimpanzee and Mountain Gorillas. We have budget and and mid range accommodation starting from self camping,Rooms with shared bathroom,self contained rooms and cottages. We do organise and process gorilla tracking permits for our clients at no extra fees and also our clients can pay by card or bank transfer or if near our offices pay by cash in usd$ or uganda shillings or pounds and euros. We do also organise active Nyiragongo Hikes,Queen Elizabeth trips and many other activities

The lodge is located near the tracking points of 6 habituated Gorilla groups of Nkuringo, Nshongi, Kahungye,Mishaya, Busingye and Bweza in the southern sector of Bwindi National Park. We cater for independent travelers, backpackers, overlanders and campers. The lodge has creative and comfortable lodgings, famously fresh and delicious food purely harvested from our organic gardens, sweeping views of the Bwindi Forest, Nombe pocket forest, 5 minutes walk to the Virunga volcanoes view point and the western rift valley and the Buniga Forest walk which is only 10 minutes drive. The lodge supports the nearby communities in agro-forestry projects majoring in high value tree planting, temperate fruit growing, vegetable growing, bee keeping . Clients who love nature are given a chance to plant and own a tree in the “Nombe go green tree planting project” which will bear their name tags and country of origin. Volunteer placements are also available in fields of conservation, Culture and Education for communities around bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

The lodge is also visited by a number of other primates like,olive baboons,blue monkeys, L’hoest monkeys, red tailed monkey and black and white colubus monkeys. For bird watchers over 200 species of birds have been recorded on the lodge premises including the purple breasted Sunbird one of the Albertine rift endemic species.
