Literally, EKA means a home, and we are here to create opportunities for the youthful community in Uganda to live a life of a purpose. EKA looked at reducing imbalances & inequalities in the communities as well as increasing awareness of challenges and resources around them. We imagined that the better way to start is a home and that by empowering people from where they come from, better communities will be created. We understand that access to important needs is not obvious to everyone in our community therefore we included a free adult literacy program to facilitate changing of lives from grassroots. As we get closer to the people, we learn more about their challenges and how interesting it is to work together towards getting solutions. The most target group here is women aged 15-50 years with the hope that women are better change makers, their role in family strengthening is so tremendous.
