Eyalama Hearty Foundation at a Glance A Bit of Background Here at Eyalama Hearty Foundation, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the future of children in need is love, prayer and a little help from our friends. Often destiny intercepts us on the road to somewhere else. The Eyalama Hearty Foundation, a Christian not-for-profit organisation in central Uganda, was birthed the day Joy Tendo Mata, (a-then young student completing her O levels), encountered her destiny on the way to college, her name was Flavia, a twelve year old girl too poor to attend school. An orphan at the age of seven herself, Joy was no stranger to hardship, thus her compassion and empathy for the disadvantaged, meant that Flavia would be the first of many vulnerable or orphaned children to be placed in her care. To date our foundation houses and cares for over 40 children and teenagers, some who have fled abuse, incest and ostracism. Our director Joy, (now a minister of the gospel) with help from
