Kadama Widows Association is an NGO for health promotion founded in 2002 in Kadama and now operating in Kirika, Kabweri, Budaka, Pallisa, Kibuku, Kagumu and Namukaluke. The project begun with 50 women living HIV/AIDS in Kadama empowered to become more assertive and live longer and healthier lives. We do this by promoting care, support and prevention. We support economic living by providing for 150 families. We provide home based care services, a mobile clinic, peer support meetings, skills building and vocational training skills. Working as a professional organization (which we define as offering unique responses to unique situations).We focus on the theory of change which represents people's understanding of how change happens – the pathways, factors and relationships that bring and sustain change in a particular context.
