Millions of Africans are affected by poverty, which has birthed desperation and hopelessness in the mind set of many communities. According to World bank report of 2018, the average poverty rate for sub-Saharan Africa stands at about 41 percent. Of the world’s 28 poorest countries, 27 are in sub-Saharan Africa all with a poverty rate above 30 percent. Projections by the World Bank also show that extreme poverty is showing few signs of improvement in sub-Saharan Africa, and may keep countries from ending extreme poverty by 2030. While there is no any simple solution to end poverty in Africa, Touch Africa Now (TAN) as a non profit organization is determined to make a difference by transforming the mindset of disadvantaged communities through impacting lives, one life at a time.
