About Uganda Reach the Aged Association (URAA)
Uganda Reach the Aged Association (URAA) is a non-government organization with member organizations in all regions of the country. URAA was founded in 1991 as a national, not for profit organization. URAA is mandated by its membership to promote quality well being of older persons through its member organizations. The organization’s aim is to provide a platform for fellowship, mutual support, hope and a voice to older persons. Specifically the organization focuses on advocacy to raise awareness on older persons’ issues and fight stigma to older persons through a rights based approach aimed at promoting dignified living by advocating and promoting equitable access to economic empowerment, social welfare, treatment, care and support, and well being of older persons.
