The religious congregation of the missionary sisters of Mary Mother of the church, www.msmmc.org was founded by the late Bishop Ceaser Asili, the first bishop of Lira Diocese in 1970. The mother house is located in Ngetta, 8 kilometers from Lira Town.The sisters are involved in pastoral and social activites in the different parts from the world. Within the Diocese, the sisters are serving in diffent parishes.
