About College of African Wildlife Management
College of African Wildlife Management was established in 1963 following the Arusha Manifesto, signed by the late president Julius K.Nyerere in 1961.The manifesto highlighted among other conservation commitments the need for trained manpower to protect and manage Africa's natural heritage. The College draws its mandate to provide training, research and consultancy services by the College of African wildlife Management Act No.8 of 1964.
The College is a parasternal organization under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism. It is registered and accredited with the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) in Tanzania and recognized center of excellence by the East African Community (EAC
