Gabon Oil Company is oil and gas exploration and production company 100% owned by the State of Gabon. The company was created by the Presidential Decree No 1017/PR/MMPH on the 24th of August 2011. The reporting line of the company goes through the Presidency of the Republic. The key functions of the Company are: • To hold manage and take participation, of any nature whatsoever on behalf of the State, directly or indirectly in all activities related to research, exploration, production, distribution, transportation, storage, marketing, refining and all activities directly related to the transactions referred to above; • To hold the State’s participation (equities) in oil and gas fields and in the capital of companies holding conventions of establishment and production sharing contracts; • To ensure the marketing, import, export and distribution of all part of the extracted products of hydrocarbon and industrial facilities for treatment and processing of hydrocarbons; Gabon Oil Company aims to achieve safe and profitable growth through effective management of domestic hydrocarbon resources and by acquiring assets/ventures across the entire spectrum of the oil and gas value chain. Ultimately, our goal is to become international oil and Gas Company of choice, capable of delivering superior shareholder returns in the long run while at the same time contributing towards the vision of “Emerging Gabon” by the year 2025
