Grands Moulins de Dakar, Senegal's first milling industry Historical Society and Mimran Group is today one of the largest food companies in West Africa. Leader since their creation, the GMD cover most of the needs of the Senegalese market and flour are also diversified into animal feed. Civic engagement has also led to the creation of the first Senegal bakery training center.

OUR HISTORY

In 1952, arrived at the port of Dakar, the first ship carrying wheat to the Grands Moulins de Dakar. Today, bread is the heart of the daily diet of every Senegalese.

For over 50 years, the factory located GMD Hann Bel-Air, in the Dakar port area feeds into flour bakers, confectioners, the biscuit and households. Over 25 boats, each carrying over 13,000 tonnes of wheat, docked in Dakar every year on the platform of GMD, and there deliver 330 thousand tons to 320 of wheat per year.

•1946 - Establishment of a study by Jacques Mimran company for the installation of a mill in Dakar.

•1952 - Start of the mill construction.

•1954 - Start of operation of the mill.

•1960 - Grands Moulins de Dakar cover the local market needs and export to West Africa, Madagascar and Equatorial.

•1982 - Creation of animal feed factory 1.

•1994 - Creation of animal feed factory 2.

•2004 - Acquisition of the mill 3.

•2006 - mill capacity expansion 3.

•2008 - Creation of a bakery training center.
