Leadership

Student leaders are democratically elected into power for a period of one year. The prefects’ body is headed by the head prefect, who supervises ministers. These ministers are responsible for various ministries which include Discipline, Environment, Academic, Religious, Furniture and power, Health, Entertainment, Sports and Catering. Students’ residents also have overall supervisors who basically monitor the welfare of the students in their hostels

Library

The Library has traditionally played an important role in the education system of a vocational school like St. Joseph’s. The school library has a vast collection of Books, Magazines, Newspapers, Novels, e.t.c……Students do work outside classrooms to deal with unusual complicated arguments, problems and literature. The library is well arranged. There is enough furniture for the students, books, and also a book store for the researchers. Most students prefer to do their work from the library.

Entertainment

In addition to having the best infrastructure, academic excellence, St. Joseph’s Vocational School engages students in other talent building activities such as entertainment among others. St. Joseph’s Vocational School has one of the best entertainment systems in Uganda, with modern audio and video equipment, forget not the DSTV. The school has over the years had a variety of entertainment programs such as “Bull Dance”, “Sosh”, and also Music, Dance, Drama and Poetry where students compete for prizes. This kind of entertainment is not only for the students of St. Joseph’s Vocational School, but also crosses boarders. Educative Drama is taken to neighboring schools, especially those with similar moral standards to those of St. Joseph’s Vocational School.

Computer

At St. Joseph’s Vocational School, students have access to computers. Those who are interested are given the necessary computer skills. The school’s Computers are connected to the internet, students are able to make research, and also communicate using email. Even for those who do know how to use the internet, colleagues will always help.

Science

The Science Laboratories are well stocked with all the apparatus, chemicals and specimen needed for practical purposes. All students carry out their experiments from the laboratory. The laboratory is maintained by well trained personel, who have gained more and more experience over time.
