SHACK AS A UNIQUE COLLEGE IN UGANDA

Many factors have played a role in this mighty college each of which portrays the college as a unique school amongst other schools in Uganda. Some of the factors that have led to this uniqueness include:

SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM

The School Administrative team is headed by Bro. Francis Brian Matsiko assisted by three deputy head teachers; one for administration and discipline, the other for academics and the other for Estates. The team is also composed of Directors of Studies in different disciplines namely - General Duties, Sciences, Arts. These form the top administration of the College
Besides the top administration, there are various Heads of Departments for different sections within the school who enable the transfer of information downwards to the other personnel within the school. The school has a total of 56 committed staff members who assist the Headteacher in the smooth running of the College. The staff plays a major role in the development of the school’s vision and mission by imparting the necessary knowledge and skills to the students who attend school in the college.

ACADEMIC PERFOMANCE IN THE COLLEGE

St. Henry's College Kitovu has a sound academic culture and it has established a reputation alongside this. The school offers a well balanced curriculum to give students opportunities to prepare for further education. The school curriculum also prepares students to deal with the challenges posed by the rapid growth and developments of the world, to solve problems, to become acquainted with facts and opinions and to acquire necessary information.
St. Henry's College Kitovu is the leading educational institution in Masaka District committed to raising the students' level of knowledge in a variety of areas. The school has maintained its ranking as the 1st overall within Masaka District in the Uganda Certificate of Education Examinations since 1998. Overall countrywide, the school has been ranked in the 4th position since 2000.    A variety of science and arts subjects are offered in the school's curriculum and are broken down into different departments that are listed below:
Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Christian Religious Education, Computer Studies, Economics and Business Education, Fine Art, Geography, History, Language and Literature, Mathematics, Physics,
The Academic System of the College imparts both Arts and Science disciplines to the students who attend classes in the College. The system is broken down into two levels:

• Ordinary Level ('O' Level)
• Advanced Level ('A' Level)

There are different disciplines (subjects) that are taught at both levels. These include:

• Ordinary Level ('O' Level)

• Advanced Level ('A' Level)
