The organization of Baccalaureate diplomas is in line with the reform of higher education launched with the promulgation of law n ° 1/22 of December 30, 2011 on the reorganization of higher education in Burundi. Article 15 of this law provides that: " The courses are sanctioned by a diploma called baccalaureate, masters or doctorate as the case may be, attesting to success in the studies followed and of which the holder is conferred the academic degree of bachelor, master or doctor ”. By wanting to respect this law, the University of Lake Tanganyika organizes training leading to the guard of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science Option Software Engineering and Network Engineering. The use of New Information and Communication Technologies is developing in sectors (education, management, administration, commerce, industry, services, households, etc.). However, the country suffers from a lack of specialists in Computer Engineering and Network Engineering at the level of Institutes / centers, Universities, public and private companies, administration etc. On-site training is therefore essential for increased availability of IT executives, analysts, programmers and network engineers who have a good knowledge of the realities and of the Burundian ecosystem.
