The project " Diversification of economic opportunities by the promotion of craft cooperatives and access to national and international markets"The main objective is to make handicrafts a vector of job creation in order to increase household income, and consequently generate the economic growth of the country. This project has two components which are "technical training of artisans and support for cooperatives". Support is provided from two angles: capacity building in financial education and organizational skills, and product marketing at local, national and international level. The CHASAA, Sectorial Chamber of Art and Crafts is the actor of the implementation of the activities of this project. It closely follows 16 cooperatives located in the provinces of Kayanza, Bubanza, Gitega, Muramvya and Makamba. These cooperatives bring together 315 artisans supported through this project.
