Service Information

The DENOSA Student Movement, formerly DENOSA Learner Movement, is a student wing of the organisation where under-graduate student nurses from South Africa’s universities, colleges and nursing schools can become a part of. This is the platform where they can raise issues that affect student nurses at their institutions. The leaders get elected for a term of two years. There are national leaders who get elected at the Student Movement National Congress. Since the inception of DENOSA Student Movement, there have been six national congresses held. The last congress, the 6th National Congress, was held in the Free State province from 21 to 23 February 2020 where national leaders were also elected.

There is a National Student Movement, which is the equivalence of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the student movement that holds its meetings three times a year, often at the DENOSA National Head Office in Pretoria. This structure comprises of six National Office Bearers (NOBs), who get elected at the National Congress of the Student Movement, and both provincial chairperson and provincial secretaries of Student Movement. The national structure is made up of 24 people. Three National Office Bearers (NOBs) represent the National Student Movement at the DENOSA National Executive Committee (NEC) at the mother-body level. This is how student matters at national level get channeled to the mother body.
