Adi-Keih — Adi-Keih College of Arts and Social Sciences graduated 262 students with degree, diploma and certificate in Anthropology and Archeology, Sociology, English, History, Geography, Literature, Law, Political Science and Journalism. The graduates include 201 with degree, 21 diploma and 40 with certificate. In a speech he delivered during the occasion, Mr. Semere Russom, Education Minister, explained the significance of education in this world of completion, and that the Government of Eritrea is making huge investment in the development of education in the country. Dr. Okbagebriel Beraki, Dean of the College, on his part stated that the college has been established in an area which is rich in Anthropology and Archeology, and that students would have good opportunity to theoretically and practically pursue their education. Halhale — Halhale College of Business and Economics today graduated a total of 362 students who have been pursuing their studies in degree and diploma programs in the fields of Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Economics, Marketing, Public Administration, Banking, Secretarial Science as well as Tourism and Hotel Management. Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the Minister of Tourism, Ms. Askalu Menkorios, stated that the government has been exerting endeavors towards raising the production capacity of citizens on the basis of raising equitability of educational opportunities at all levels. She further indicated that the role of professional youths nurtured by the higher national educational institutions is significant in laying reliable economic foundation for the nation, and called on the graduates to demonstrate hard work in their respective careers.

The Eritrea Institute of Technology (EIT) or Mai-Nefhi College is a university located in the town of Abardae, Mai Nefhi, Eritrea. It is situated about 12 km southwest of Asmara, near the Mai Nefhi dam. The institute has three colleges: Science, Engineering and Technology, and Education. The institute began with about 5,500 students during the 2003-2004 academic year. Overview The EIT was opened after the University of Asmara was ordered closed. According to the government, the institution was established to achieve equal distribution of higher learning in areas away from the capital city of Asmara. Similar colleges were opened in other parts of the country. The Eritrea institute of Technology at Mai Nefhi is the main local institute of higher studies in science, engineering and education. Funding for EIT is largely external but some funding is provided by the Ministry of Education.

The University of Asmara (UoA) was a public university in Asmara, Eritrea. The nation's first university, it was founded in 1958 by the Piae Madres Nigritiae (Comboni Sisters). The school was meant to provide for the local population, though its initial enrollment in the 1950s was entirely Italian.
