Emesco Development Foundation (EDF) is a reputable local pro-poor development organisation based and operational in Kibaale District in Mid-Western Uganda. EDF is duly incorporated as a Company Limited By Guarantee and Not Having a Share Capital according to the laws of Uganda and for that matter it is a not-for-profit development organization. Principal Mandate of Emesco The principal mandate of EDF is to enhance the social and economic empowerment of the rural poor, the disadvantaged and the marginalised, majority of whom are women, so that they can improve their livelihood situation and dignity. EDF was founded in April 1998 and since this time it has experienced tremendous growth both in terms of service scale to the communities and institutional structures. Emesco Development Foundation is today one of the leading development players in Kibaale District.
