Industries Chimiques du Sénégal (I.C.S.- Chemical Industries of Senegal) is a product of South-South cooperation, and more specifically of the convergence between India's significant need for phosphoric acid to produce fertilizer, and the availability of a high quality phosphate mine in Senegal.

 

ICS is Senegal's largest industrial complex, producing:

 

•marketable phosphate, from a mine in TAÏBA, located some 100 km from DAKAR,

•phosphoric acid (P2O5), in two adjacent plants located in DAROU, near the mine,

•fertilizers (DAP, NPK, SSP/TPS) in a plant located in MBAO (18 km outside of DAKAR).

 

 

The ICS industrial complex also includes:

•marketing of its products and production of pesticides, through its SENCHIM subsidiary,

•rail transportation, through its SEFICS subsidiary,

•logistics (Port Terminal and crane, sea-lines for ammonia and acid),

•water supply (boreholes in MÉKHÉ) and electrical power production.
