The National Insurance Company of Zimbabwe (NICOZ) was formerly known as NEM before its acquisition by ZIMRE in 1988. Pearl General Insurance Company (Private) Limited was incorporated in 1979, before changing its name to Diamond Insurance company in 1994 when Pearl Assurance Plc of the United Kingdom sold its business interests in Zimbabwe. On 1 January 2002, NICOZ and DIAMOND merged to form NicozDiamond (NDI) and subsequently listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange in the same year. NicozDiamond (NDI) is the leading Short-term Insurance Company and only short term insurer listed on the Stock Exchange. The Company is known for its excellence in service and listening to the valued clients. NDI has branches in all major towns. The NicozDiamond brand has spread its wings to have its presence in Zambia, Malawi and Uganda. The company also prides itself in being the only ISO certified short-term insurance company in Zimbabwe, having attained such certification in 2006.
